The Effect of Art Therapy on Physical¤ýPsychological Symptoms in Children with Psychosomatic

Abstract

|
The purpose of this study is to clarify the effect that art therapy influences physical¤ýpsychological symptoms of psychosomatic disordered children. The concrete study subject is as follows:
The results of this study are such as the following.
First, the art therapy appeared to affect the reduction of physical symptoms (somatization) of psychosomatic disordered children, and especially it was effective on reducing symptoms of headache, stomachache, dizziness, muscleache, feeling heavy in the chest.
Second, the art therapy appeared to affect the reduction of psychological symptoms (anxiety¤ýdepression) of psychosomatic disordered children, and especially it was effective on reducing symptoms of being on the fret, being strained, anxiety (hasty¤ýinattentive), depression (negative¤ýspiritless¤ýworrying¤ýtimid¤ýdark countenance¤ýlow voice).
Therefore, art therapy appeared to be helpful for healthy self-development, especially by dispelling negative feelings and stresses, solving main troubles, coping positively with stresses as well as for reduction of physical¤ýpsychological symptoms of psychosomatic disordered children.
